The Sea Gypsies are a Belly Dance Troupe, based in Eastbourne. The ladies are different ages, shapes and sizes, but most of they are all ladies who love to belly dance and have fun.
The Sea Gypsies meet every week to train in the many different styles of Belly Dance. They specialise in Tribal Belly Dancing in which the dancers play finger symbols, known in the Middle East as Segats.
The costumes are made by members of the team so with the training and learning of new choregraphies the Sea Gypsies take up most of their spare time.
It is the high energy of the troupe that makes the Sea Gypsies performances very vibrant, colourful and very entertaining for the audience.
