| Ruth was born in the north of England where she grew up dancing in school. You can still hear the northern accent – not a German one as some think. For the last thirty years she has been living, dancing and calling in the south of Germany,
as well as in different parts of the UK. She loves calling and dancing different styles. Whether its elegant Playford, zesty contras, squares, traditional or new and lesser known dances. She likes introducing people to the social aspect of English dance and so is very happy that Eastbourne is "the friendly festival". Ruth has brought over a busload of Germans to Halsway Manor at least six times over the years and hopes to continue this. She might even persuade some of them to come to the Eastbourne ! Making the music visible and working with different and exciting bands is what makes her love dancing so much. |
