Edward Jay and Fiona Barrow form the accordion and violin duo ‘the Bristol Players’. They are both individually gifted and experienced entertainers and improvisers, and are both classically trained with considerable technical mastery of their respective instruments.
As two very strong, yet complimentary musical personalities, Eddy and Fiona combine to create something which is undeniably greater than the sum of their respective parts. Their performances, whatever the venue, consistently bristle with an invigorating vibrancy.
They are based in Bristol, England. Together they have performed internationally for theatre (National Theatre/Kneehigh’s ‘Tristan and Yesult’ - Australian leg), and several UK music festivals (including Sidmouth, Chippenham, Southam Gathering). They also regularly play for weddings, corporate functions, residential homes (sing-along concerts), and storytelling in schools.
Stylistically, they feature a tantalizing palette of authentic folk (English, Welsh, Irish, American and Scottish), plus more exotic flavors of Italian tarantellas, Argentinean tango, Eastern European circle dances, Hot club jazz, famous classical works, and original material.
