PAT MURPHYPat Murphy lives in Norfolk, he enjoys dancing of many varieties and has run Irish dance nights for various folk clubs over the last few years.He first became interested in Irish Ceilidh dancing (now known as Figure dancing) back in the 1960s,when, with a group of friends he started to attend Ceilidhs in London. After a number of years abroad he returned to the UK to find that the Irish Set dancing had taken over from the Ceilidh dancing in popularity. Pat is delighted to have been asked to run the Irish workshops this year, having previously run these workshops at other festivals. Whilst he enjoys dancing and teaching Set dancing he is very keen to ensure that the lovely Irish Ceilidh dances are not lost. His workshops will therefore be a mixture of Set and Ceilidh, but maintaining the 'square' formation of Set dancing where possible.  photo: Pat Murphy |
