| The Cat's Whiskers (Maggie Kaye, fiddle; David Pattenden, accordion; Jenny Pattenden, keyboard) are a Midlands-based band who play for dance clubs and festivals as well as for beginners events. Their interests in dance music include the English, Playford and American styles. In disguise (wearing their tartans) they perform as 'The Auld Alliance', playing music from the Scottish repertoire for Royal Scottish Country Dance Society clubs and the like. The band members have a particular interest in matching the music to the dance - in their spare time they are all long-standing dancers and resident callers at their local dance clubs, and Maggie is also an experienced teacher of International Dance. |
